About us
It all began with a simple idea fuelled by a deep passion for supporting the GAA, LGFA and Camogie communities and has since transcended into several other sports with the potential to grow even further.
- We have all battled with our mental health at some point. We have all had times when we don’t know if we can pull ourselves up.
- We have all had financial trouble, family issues, stressful jobs, one too many drinks on a night out (or every night out), dabbled in taking drugs and tried our hands at gambling.
- We all know someone who has sadly passed away at the hands of their mental state.
But do we really ever stop to think about how to break the cycle.
Do we ever ask ourselves “How can I change”?
We want to normalise speaking with a counsellor. It shouldn’t just be for when you are at rock bottom. It should be for everyday normal life. Money, relationship issues, stress from our jobs, stress from the pitch and off the pitch.
It should support you to think differently about yourself and make conscious decisions.
Having a sport or hobby is so important to maintaining positive mental health.
At off the pitch, we want players, backroom team and committee members to be the best version of themselves so everyone can have the pitch as a place of refuge, from the noise of the outside world.
One of the smallest GAA clubs in the country, Seir Kieran took the first steps in supporting their members by using Off The Pitch.
Seir Kieran is very fortunate that they have never lost a member due to their mental health.
They took action when they saw the opportunity.
Players, backroom team and committee members are all voluntary. Show them that their club care about them by offering them this amazing incentive to put in the hard work and perform to the best of their ability when it counts.
